This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal data when you visit yarnneedlemagic.com (the “Website”) or buy from us. It is written in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

2. What we collect

Order and account details: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, order history, and account login (if you create one).
Payment information: payments are handled by our payment gateway partners. We receive only the transaction status and reference, and never your full card, UPI PIN or bank credentials.
Communications: messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, phone or our contact form, including photos or videos you share for order support.
Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and cookie data (see section 7).
Reviews: any reviews or comments you choose to post.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Accounts and purchases must be made by adults or under a parent’s or guardian’s supervision.

3. Why we use it

To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle cancellations, returns and refunds.
To communicate about your order, including confirmations, shipping updates and support.
To prevent fraud and keep the Website secure.
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
To send offers and updates, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To understand how the Website is used and improve it (using aggregated analytics).

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you place an order, create an account or contact us, and for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act, such as fulfilling a purchase you request or complying with law.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share only what’s needed with:

Courier and logistics partners: your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order.
Payment gateways: to process payments and refunds securely.
Service providers: website hosting, email delivery and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
Authorities: where required by law, court order or to protect our legal rights.

Some service providers may store data on servers outside India, in line with applicable law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for as long as required by tax and accounting laws (generally up to 8 years). Other personal data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, or until you withdraw consent, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. How we protect it

We use reasonable security safeguards, including HTTPS encryption, access controls and trusted service providers, to protect your data. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and the authorities as required by law.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the cart, checkout and your account. With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop the cart and checkout from working.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

Get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
Correct, complete or update your data.
Have your data erased (subject to legal record-keeping requirements).
Withdraw consent at any time (this won’t affect processing done before withdrawal).
Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
